Land Faculty is an interdisciplinary studio for design and creative services. With our multi-talented team and research-based design process, we can adapt to any project to deliver on your vision.

Our skills and experience make us particularly well suited to restaurant & hospitality, retail, development, and branding projects. Though we’re also willing to take on anything that you believe thoughtful, well-executed design will add value to.

We develop brands, places, and experiences that are memorable, beautiful, and timeless.

Land Faculty maintains a small, flexible team of designers, and a trusted network of creative and technical partners. We work with others in a collaborative fashion, and include our clients as part of that team and process.

Designer & Creative Director

Born in Edmonton, Joshua lived in Nairobi, Kenya (secondary school), Kelowna, BC (high school), and Waterloo, Ontario (university), before returning to call Edmonton home. His first career path was in the restaurant industry, working in many roles including as an apprentice cook (1560h), kitchen manager, server, and bartender. Joshua trained as a Technologist for Landscape Architecture at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, and further developed his design training and education at Leeds Beckett University in England with a Post-Graduate Diploma and a Master of Arts in the fields of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design.

Before founding Land Faculty, Joshua worked as a designer in the private and public sector, on a wide range of projects from single-family residential to major public infrastructure. He served as the chair of Media Architecture Design Edmonton for 2013 & 2014, was a founding partner of the Designing Downtown event and a member of the steering committee for the Edmonton Urban Design Awards in 2013, and has been the Design Representative on the Edmonton Public Art Committee since 2013. Joshua has over 10 years of experience in both the hospitality and design industries.

Hannah was born in Fort Smith, NWT, and grew up in many small towns through Alberta. She studied English in post-secondary before transitioning to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Art & Design at the University of Alberta. In 2011, Hannah was hired as the design lead for ONST Creative, later acquired by Versett Inc., who grew a reputation as one of Canada’s foremost branding and experience design agencies. Hannah has also consulted on many brands based in Edmonton, ensuring our local businesses have a visual representation that is to an international design standard.
